I also experience the occasional "black screen"-problem, but in my
case it appears only when I switch on the Falcon. If I press the
reset-button or switch the Falcon off and on again it boots normally.

It's possible that this is caused by the DMA buffer-mod. When I first
installed the Falcon, Doug advised me to not install the mod
(resistore/inductor) at all before I got the AB working. Well, I
couldn't boot the Falcon at all (always black screen) until I
installed it. With a bit of tweaking (different resistors) it's
possible that I might get rid of this problem entirely.

So far we have three theories here: Doug's "it doesn't like to boot at
high speeds"-theory, Geir's "it doesn't like to boot at low
speeds"-theory and my own "perhaps it's the DMA-mod"-theory.
