I got some helpful mail from the author:

OS>When I use the 'FileInfo' CPX it looks as if the TTRAM flags are

This is a bug in the CPX. It checks files for being an executable and
programs without relocationtable are classified as non executable.
GERMAR.APP is definitely not packed.

I have now made and restored trouble free image backups of my Jaz.
1gB restore was about 61mins and apparently streamed.
