Porting DOOM...

I sent this letter to both the BAD MOOD mailing list and the falcon040 one.
People on the former should be interested in things like this and those
on the second might actually be able to play it some day. ;-)

As you all probably know by now, the DOOM sources have been released and
ports are under way to most current platforms, I'd guess.
However, I haven't heard of anyone doing an Atari port.

About an hour ago, I managed to build a DOOM executable on my Falcon. :-)

Naturally, I've disabled everything that has to do with actual hardware
(the Falcon under TOS is not much like a Linux/X machine) access for now.
Indeed, most of what I did to make it compile was disable stuff.

As expected, the program doesn't work yet, but at least it's something
to build on. If anyone is interested in helping out (I don't really have
time for this at all), let me know and I'll send you the modified files.

I started out with the original Linux sources, but perhaps it would really
be better to do this from the DOS port. Has anyone looked at that?
There might even be sources available for some of the Amiga ports, but I'm
not sure where one would look for those. Does anyone know?
