Thanks for the feedback everyone... I feel a bit more reassured that the
situation is probably retrievable.

I think what I did to the DSP clock is OK... but I did make mistake in
my description of what I did:

I will recheck... but I didn't get the clock from the solders pad.. Just
the earth point.


I assumed (I think correctly) that the cut trace on the top of the board
was an alternative way of breaking the connection between the 32MHz
clock and the DSP. Rather than mend it and cut a trace underneath as per
Geir's instructions, I simply left the gap in the trace and replaced the
40MHz from Nemesis with the 50MHz from the new oscillator.


My fear is that I have done something more subtle... perhaps
accidentally remade that trace cut, overheated something, or caused
something on the bottom of the board to short or disconnect (as I never
disassembled far enough to see the bottom of the motherboard).
Perhaps even a rogue drop of solder. When I get time I will have to go
over everything I did very carefully, then say various magic words, hold
the odd religious object and then try and boot again.
