KGMD
Knarf's German MiNT distribution is a unix-like MiNT-distribution from the mid 90's by Frank "Knarf" Bartels. It's a multitasking, multi-user setup, based on MiNTOS and MiNT 1.12. A very useful feature is the virtual consoles, which unfortunately is not supported on current kernels.
I've set up a disk image for ST/STE/TT/Falcon with latest version of KGMD installed. This can be used with Hatari and on real hardware. 4Mb is an absolute minimum, and you will probably want to tune the setup (disable servers etc) to conserve as much memory as possible. Currently there is about 1Mb free RAM after logging in on one terminal.
1Gb image, four partitions:
- C - 255Mb TOS-partition - boot-drive.
- D - 255Mb TOS-partition - KGDM installer.
- E - 255Mb MinixFS - system.
- F - 255Mb MinixFS - home.
AHDI is installed, so it will boot on plain TOS as well as on EmuTOS. EmuTOS is recommended due to it's built-in harddisk driver and improved GEMDOS.
Users (username / password):
- root / Password
- user / Password
Yes, the passwords are "Password". Change them with the command "passwd".
Differences from a standard KGMD install
- home is on a separate partition.
- You'll find KEMD (English translation + some tools, K. Ellis) on the boot partition.
- MultiTOS AES can be started from the shell (console (Alt+F10) only!) by issuing the command "gem".

The IDE image is byteswapped, apart from that these are identical. If your IDE adapter supports byteswapping you can use the ACSI image and enable byteswapping.
